Note: This website is authored by me, Chad Davis, therefore this is only for the Road District.
Stookey Township Road District maintains just under 70 miles of roadway. This is nearly double what most Districts maintain.
Every Winter we have managed to increase our snow removal and we been able to establish some stand by employees to ensure the equipment doesn't sit idle. We understand the importance of making sure everyone can drive to work, the grocery store, etc. and we also understand the importance of the Police, Fire, Ambulances, etc. It is never known when an emergency vehicle will need to get to someone's house, and we take that serious. Myself and all my employees are on call 24/7. Not all employees may be available 24/7 of course but during forecasts of snow, they make themselves available.
Interesting note: It is not a duty of Road Districts to remove snow and ice from roadways. It is an extra service most Townships have decided should be added.
