Phase 1:  Two playgrounds, Restrooms, fence, and parking lot.

Phase 2:  Walking trail with workout stations, dog park, swing set, landscaping

Phase 3:   To be determined. Suggestions always welcome. Maybe pavilions in the future.

Updates:

Most properties are acquired. Only one building remains, and we are working on acquiring it. We can build around it for now

A small walk in only park will also be developed at Frank Scott and RT. 13 across from Firehouse Crossing

12/20/06     Website for park is now up

12/20/06     Topographic survey being conducted

1/5/07         Topographic survey is completed.

1/7/07         Park plans available for download

2/21/07       Plans are still being finalized. We will start will the parking lots, two playgrounds, and possibly the restrooms.

4/12/07       Bid packages are near completion. I will update that soon

4/27          Phase 1 of the park construction has been advertised seeking bids. This phase will be the parking lot, two playgrounds, and restroom/garage structure. We expect a May 24th bid opening.

5/31/07      Bids have been opened. They are being tabulated and analyzed. An award should be very soon.

6/12/07      Preparations are underway to award the lowest bid to Hank's Excavating and Landscaping.

7/17/07     The last update I received was progress may start in a couple weeks. Paperwork takes a long time.

7/24/07    Finally, we have some construction. The front parking lot is started.

8/27/07    Construction is progressing fast. The parking lot, restroom, and playgrounds are all under construction.

12/5/07     Playground, bathroom, and sidewalks are up. Some finishing work needs to be done. The fence is almost finished. Park is starting to look like a park now.

12/6/07    We are starting plans for phase 2. Mostly a walking trail for this phase. A swing set is being considered as well.

12/12/07  The playgrounds and restrooms will be operational very soon. Due to winter weather they will not officially open till spring. Phase 2 is being engineered at this time. When the winter weather breaks, we will be starting this phase.

2/5/08   Phase 1 is 95 % complete. Springtime will allow landscaping to be completed. Phase 2 coming soon.

4/26/08  The weather has not been cooperating, thus not allowing us to get grass planted. The first weekend of May will probably be the day the park opens, grass or not. The bathrooms are open during daylight hours effective immediately.

5/2/08   The seeding of grass has been completed. The park is now open waiting for people. The wind scattered the straw but that will be repaired soon. Please stay off the grass or the "future grass".
